Carbon Dioxide Removal

TPG has a range of carbon dioxide scrubber plants that can be tailored to suit the customer requirements. The air purification unit is the smallest, and the MPT carbon dioxide scrubber is at the other end of the scale. These may have touch screen user interfaces and varying degrees of automation.

Typically in the range of 1 – 5 m3

CO2 removal rate

1 – 15 kg/hr

800 – 2500 kg

Power required

2 – 30 kW

Required air flow rate

100 – 1000 m3/hr

MPT Carbon Dioxide Scrubber

The MPT Carbon Dioxide Scrubber uses a regenerable chemical absorbent to remove carbon dioxide continuously from a submarine's atmosphere. Boiling and stripping the carbon dioxide from the solution regenerates the capacity of the absorbent. The high purity carbon dioxide is either compressed and discharged overboard or passed to a gas management plant for further processing.

Air Purification Unit

The Air Purification Unit removes carbon dioxide from a submarine's atmosphere by absorbing it into a chemical absorbent. Operation is similar to that of the MPT Carbon Dioxide Scrubber. Low energy requirements make it suitable for installation in diesel-electric submarines and those fitted with AIP systems
