TPG Engineering Gets Equipped for Nuclear Work

by: Phil Curtis 02/02/2017

TPG Engineering has stepped up to the challenge of the nuclear power sector by investing in the Dukinfield factory facility.

Part of this plan is the installation of two advanced machining centres that will be supplied by Ward CNC of Sheffield. A Soraluce milling and boring centre and a Hankook vertical turning centre offer very flexible capacity for components up to around 2 metres diameter.

This move reinforces the Group’s status as a major Tier 2 supplier to prime contractors in industrial, energy, process and defence sectors. It also springboards the Engineering business into a new area of physically large, highly accurate workpieces, predominantly in titanium, for nuclear engineering and other clients throughout the world.

For more details of the machines and TPG's plans to use them, the full story is on the industrial news site MTD.
